Flore De Wachter

about

My photographic journey began at the intersection of architecture and design, where I explored the expressive possibilities of composition, color, and structure. However, my yearning for a more personal and emotionally resonant narrative eventually led me back to my camera.

I am inspired by light, atmosphere, surroundings, and my own state of mind. My images are intuitive, with a serene focus on simple things.

My work is about telling stories through photography, with a cinematic feel. It consists of two parts:

First, I capture images during outings, creating what feels like a parallel world — my own personal movie.

The second part involves combining these images into short stories. Some photos or collages stand alone, while others reveal new meanings when placed together. Viewers can create their own stories by mixing different photos.

In these works, I invite viewers to pause and reflect on the emotions and stories behind the images, allowing for a personal interpretation of each narrative.

These works are an invitation to pause — to reflect on the emotions, atmosphere, and silent stories behind the images.

My practice is autonomous, shaped by personal inspiration rather than structured projects. I follow my own vision and share my work when I feel ready. I showcase existing work and occasionally release new pieces, letting my creativity flow naturally.
